Our Mission and Purpose

The purpose for which the group is organized is to promote living history, to enable all persons to develop a greater appreciation of our heritage through accurate recreations of historical 19th century America, mainly the period of  the War Between the States, & through authentic portrayals of historical events which occurred during that time; & to teach, revitalize and foster a greater understanding & appreciation of our American Heritage.

The 8th Texas is a volunteer organization which denounces racism, racial supremacists, hate groups & individuals or groups that misuse or desecrate the symbols of the United States of America and/or former Confederate States of America; and has no modern political agenda or status.

Become one of the many Civil War enthusiasts volunteering for service in the 8th Texas Volunteer Ranger & Artillery Regiments.  You are invited   to  " Come  Live  the  History "  and   walk  in  the footsteps of the gallant men and women who fought during the War Between the States in the 1860's. If you are interested in leaning more about this living history organization or in becoming a re-enactor, please contact us.  We have members in our regiments ranging from Louisiana to Oklahoma.
